Harpbot is a small harp playing robot build by Jesse Harlin. It is a musical Instrument as well as a sculpture. Eight motors are placed above eight strings with corresponding visual feedback LED's. Hanging in front of the Harpbot are it’s two slug-like glowing eyes. Should a passer-by wish to interact with the Harpbot, they may turn, twist, or jostle the glowing eyes. The eyes will immediately turn off and a motor and LED will turn on. Each eye possess a dual axis accelerometer that makes music-making with Harpbot fun and intuitive.
Harpbot is tuned to a Japanese pentatonic scale.
